Opening Day Entertainment Group proudly presents OUR latest Canadian Brass album release…

Christmas Time Is Here:
The Encore!

New album artwork.

New album artwork.

In a tribute to the magical sound of vinyl, this year we have created ‘The Encore’ of the beloved ‘Christmas Time Is Here’ CD on LP.

The music celebrates new original compositions by both Caleb Hudson and Chris Coletti as well as our favourite Christmas classics - Vince Guaraldi’s Charlie Brown, ‘What Child is This’, a new rendition of the Glenn Miller Songbook, Brandon Ridenour’s ‘You’re a Mean One’ and Chuck’s famous ‘Frosty!’

Included in the Vinyl edition is a free digital download code so you can enjoy both the old and the new by ordering as seen below, and, if you’d really prefer Encore in CD form, we have that for you as well!

We invite you to join us on the road to enjoy #TheBrassLive on this year’s festive #christmastour. #TheEncoreLP and other specially chosen albums will be found at each stop so join us after the show to meet and greet the guys and have your very own #TheEncoreLP personally autographed.

WINDOWS IN TIME | Opening Day welcomes Bernhard Scully

Canadian Brass proudly welcomes Bernhard Scully to Opening Day Entertainment Group with his 2nd chamber album, Windows In Time. This CD features the premiere recording of Gunther Schuller’s final composition for horn, Quintet for Horn and Strings, paired with the work Gunther said was his great inspiration, Mozart’s Quintet for Horn and Strings, K. 407.
Recorded at the Krannert Center for Performing Arts, Foellenger Great Hall at the University of Illinois (UIUC), the project was funded by the University of Illinois Center for Advanced Study, the UIUC College of Fine and Applied Arts, and the UIUC MillerComm Lecture Series.

Composer, Gunther Schuller, himself a horn player and long-time advocate of brass chamber music, invited by Bernhard to produce, has presented remarkable aspects beyond the excellence of musicianship by all the performers; foremost being the last of Gunther’s creative works before his passing in 2015.
No one was more qualified, experienced and musically insightful to showcase the magnificent blend of the oldest and newest two Quintets; and together with Bernhard and the Jupiter Quartet, this masterful CD represents the historical pinnacle of the horn.
Bernhard continues to achieve an enviable position in the horn world as performer, educator, mentor and administrator, high in demand by many of North America’s most important musical ventures — Canadian Brass applaud Bernhard's epic journey into Horn chamber music!
To purchase your copy today, Windows In Time can be found both digitally and physically at our CanBrassStore.  For Press and reviewers, please contact us at press@openingday.com
